A new approach to Raman measurement!
The RAMANwalk redefines Raman imaging by intelligently selecting the most efficient path for data collection, achieving imaging speeds more than five times faster than conventional Raman microscopes. Without requiring prior sample knowledge, the system autonomously detects distinctive Raman scattering patterns and initiates a targeted search, enabling the rapid acquisition of crucial data.
The RAMANwalk system combines ease of use with superior efficiency, providing high spectral quality and very fast Raman image previews, making it the ideal choice for routine applications.
Key Features of the RAMANwalk:
- Significant reduction in imaging time with random-walk technology
- Galvanic mirror system for precise laser beam steering
- High spectral and spatial resolution
- Fully automated hardware operation
- Advanced 2D/3D Raman image analysis
- Automated calibration and alignment
Unlike traditional Raman microscopes, which move the laser linearly across the sample using stage movement, the RAMANwalk enhances speed and efficiency by employing galvanic mirrors for smart laser positioning.
This innovative scanning approach actively searches for Raman signals, ensuring that even low-contrast samples can be analyzed based purely on their chemical composition. When the system detects a Raman signal, it intelligently scans the surrounding area for similar signals. Once no further signals are found, the system shifts rapidly to new regions, optimizing scanning efficiency.
Practical Example:
In a sample of PMMA (purple) and Polystyrene (green) beads, both materials appear visually similar, with PMMA particles being slightly smaller.
- After 40 seconds, the RAMANwalk's random-walk algorithm begins revealing the sample’s composition, offering an early-stage preview.
- After 3 minutes, finer details emerge, allowing users to decide whether a full scan is necessary.
- After approximately 27 minutes, a high-resolution Raman image is fully acquired.
